Zhang Ji aka Cafe Orient, 170 Cowley road Oxford.

This place might just be the whole family's favourite place to eat in Oxford. We are lovers of Asian flavours and spice in this household and from all the times we have visited this restaurant, separately or all together, we have never been disappointed. To find somewhere that is consistently good is pretty rare these days, so we thought it would be a good place to recommend to our readers.
Where to start... FLAVOURS! Obviously one of the main reasons we love this place is the delicious food, the diverse menu filled with familiar favourites and some items that push you to try something new. Joe's had their jellyfish salad a couple of times! If you like spice you wont be disappointed with any of their Sichuan dishes, they're not stingy with the chillies.

There is one particular dish on the menu called 'Multi-flavour Aubergine' (great name), that we literally get every time as the name suggests it is so multi-flavourful, crispy on the outside and soft and silky in the middle, yummmm. Thinking about ordering a take-away now.
We visited in the Summer when we had family visiting, there was nine of us and we sat in the private room in the back with a big round rotating table. So such a perfect place for group dining and sharing dishes. we ordered a big selection of food with the friendly waitresses help, but the highlight had to be the whole Sichuan Fish (pictured). Everyone kept saying how good it was, spicy fish on a bed of sweet, salty, spicy, saucy vegetables.
All in all a great place that we cant recommend enough, whether for a quick lunch, evening meal or cheeky take-away. TRY THIS PLACE!
lots of love,
Keda xx
